Not sure anyone cares, to be honest.

I always rated him as a decent finisher

Can’t be true, we’ve got the best squad ever.

Add him to the shopping/recall list with Hugill, Ayew and Zaza

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
A lot of people thought he was alright. The usual suspects slagged him off like they do every other player from time to time. Antonio is crap and not Premier League standard. Arnautovic is crap and we got ripped off. Yarmolenko is crap (three weeks ago). Snodgrass is not Premier League standard (a week ago) and so on and so forth.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

By the way, hats off for the use of the word 'indolent' to describe a football player.

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
Spacktrick post.

People were happy to see him and Little Pea go and said we didn't need any more strikers beside Haller and Ajeti. Now they're desperate for someone to partner Haller.

IT'S ALMOST AS IF BAD DECISIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

Did ANYONE say we only needed Haller & Ajeti?
Plenty including me reckoned Pea and Perez should go ... along with Carroll obviously.
Those 3 players were stealing £300k a week in wages and none were capable of leading our line due to unsuitability or injury.
What we needed was Haller and two more players capable of playing up front by themselves and scoring goals.
That group with the hopefully recovering Silva as a developing player would do us.
At the moment we are completely reliant on Haller as Ajeti doesnt seem to be trusted and has done little with the small chances he has had to play.
Perez isnt the answer and never was.

Scoring 5 goals in 5 games happens now and then. If he scores 20 goals in 20 games I'll streak across the London Stadium pitch with a Bring Back Perez banner.

Carlton cole would score 20 goals a season in la Liga

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
Thought he was cultured but off the pace slightly which isn't really surprising given the stop/start nature of his appearances.

I will admit to shoulder shrugging when he left.

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
Said it so many times but Hernandez is a decent striker but not suited to the modern game of playing one up front. If you look at Leicester, they have the balls and the manager to throw that out of the window and play at least two up front and are reaping the rewards. If we played to Hernandez strengths he would have scored loads of goals. We are making the same mistake already with Haller. I really rate him but how many chances have we created for him? We need to change our ways but won't hence why we will always be a shit club and have shit teams.

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
La liga is no where near the premier league for intensity and time on the ball

of course perez will look better there

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
Has good ability and obviously knows how to play as a striker at top level.

But, for me, his intensity was lacking and he was well off the pace for what's required in the PL. Not sure if we played to his strengths but, then again, I am not sure he really showed what those strengths were.

Like others I shrugged my shoulders when he went. But good luck to him.

Yes, but even more than that. Plenty of people were blase about the idea of going into the season with two strikers, only one of whom would likely be a first-teamer.

Now once the season has started we're talking about playing two up front and realising how few options we have. Terrible decision making.

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
Everyone knows the league’s real totally different. It’s not as if Perez didn’t have a fair shot at the PL. Didn’t do it at Arsenal or here. And if he was so hot in training (playing against other PL players) then he should be able to reproduce it in a real game when he got the opportunity, and he rarely did.

there’s no shame in it. Look at Morata in Spain and Italy vs over here? Higuain? Etc... the PL is a completely different thing to any other league.

I think people will be surprised at how well PL based strikers would do in Spain given the speed and strength you need here. I think players like Defoe or even average strikers like Hugil could make their mark over there. Just that the wages are crap so no one bothers.

Well, Mark Noble did say he was the best finisher he has ever seen.

I still wanted him out as he had a major attitude problem and was unprofessional.

Re: Lucas Perez Lucas Perez is still alive
It's not something that I am surprised about, the Spanish league is very weak compared to the Premier League. He still wouldn't do well in our league now.
